Here we are then, some more scan photo's for you. We had another scan today so that hopefully the baby would be in a more conducive position for having a scan and although the little one was still not quite in the right position it was good enough to get some more shots (although the nurse certainly had to work for her money).
So here are the scan photo's..scan 3 and scan 4
The baby is in good shape and you may (or may not) be able to see it's ear, nose, mouth and chin as well as the body, spine, heart and just about make out it's fingers.

As a footnote, Chris and Simon came up to Blackpool to see us yesterday and we went out for a few drinks last night....i seen to remember me saying that i didn't want to get pissed but that went out the window as soon as we got into Walkabout, who were doing a 2 for 1 offer..four pints later we wandered over to Flares to see the wife and have a pint and then onto Yates for a pint before venturing off to Rumours to end the night drooling over semi-naked birds serving us drinks...life just don't get much better..and after another two pints in there i was well pissed, considering i'm normally teetotal to then go and have 8 pints in the space of five hours just left me wasted..still, it was a good night had by all and Simon spent most of the night trying to get a decent, sneaky photo of the semi naked barstaff on his little phone.
I now plan not to drink lager for the next month.

Well, we had the scan today and i have a few pictures for you. They are not brilliant because they could not get a very good picture of the foetus as it was taking after it's daddy and being very awkward and totally un-photogenic.
The baby, as you might be able to tell from the photo's is lying on it's head in the womb and right into the left hand corner of her stomach, which i think is why Fliss has been getting some sharp pains in that area.
We are due back for a second lot of scans on the 27th Jan so that hopefully the baby will be in a better position for the nurse to have a more detailed look at the heart to make sure it has formed properly and everything is as it should be.
I would just like to point out that in any other situation, Fliss being covered in a baby lotion like gel could be considered a turn on!!
Anyway..for your viewing pleasure here is scan 1 and scan 2.

The first pic is not as clear as the second but in both instances you can see the head and body and in the second you can quite clearly see the spine....how cool is that!!!

Totally caught by surprise was the fact that my Gourami's have spawned.
A little over 2 months ago i bought 2 Indian Gourami's for my community tank (1 male, 1 female). A few weeks after they were put in the male started making a bubble nest on the surface of the water so i thought that they might get together and spawn but i did not think it would be so soon.
Then the other day i was feeding the fish and noticed, as i put my fingers in the tank, that there was a lot of movement at the surface of the water..almost as if it was teeming with water fleas or something....well it was teeming, but not with water flea's but hundreds of tiny fry.
I started to panic then because i had absolutely nothing to feed them with as even flake ground up into powder is still to big for these little fish so i had to wait till after work to get some stuff called Liquifry.
The male, who does all the maternity duties, is incredibly protective at the moment, even to the point of having a go at me if my fingers get to close..
I do expect a large amount of fatalities as this will be their first spawning and it's a community tank and the fact that i didn't notice them till after they had hatched so didn't get to feed them right from the off so fingers crossed i have a few survivers...
Just need to get my Cichlids to spawn now.

I have started re-doing the galleries with a comment feature...so now you can add comments, poke fun and call me all the names under the sun for posting your picture online.
Just one thing though...i have done away with thumbnails as over time, what with more and more pictures being added, they tend to bloat the server and take up valuable space, the upside is that it's easier for me to code in plain old HTML, the downside is that the 'thumbnail' images are actually 100x100 snapshots taken directly from the image so the browser still needs to load the whole image in order to display the snapshop..which means for those of you still on snail like dial up it may take a little longer for the snapshot images to load...of course the upside of that is when you click on the snapshot to view the picture in it's entirety it should just load straight away.
Only a few galleries have been done so far and i will continue to do one gallery a day just so that i don't get a sore arse while typing...or get gruesome headaches from staring at the screen to long, or generally get pissed off with the whole laborious process.
After i have finished transferring all the old galleries i will put some of my new pictures up.

We have finally got the scan date through and it's on the 21st January....so hopefully we will have a nice scan picture of our unborn child in a weeks time...so exciting i can barely contain myself.
If there are no complications and we do get a nice pic then i will try and get it up on the web site...never scanned in a negative pic before so should be interesting.

On a sad...but inevitable note, it looks like Duncan's website has finally died..probably saw little point in renewing the domain name when he never updated the bloody thing razz

Totally forgot to mention that we finally got to see the final chapter in the Lord of the Rings trilogy on Sunday.
Despite being 4 hours or so long i thoroughly enjoyed it and to be honest the film didn't seem that long till we got to the last 1/2 hour or so, i was in the grip of pain because i desperately needed the toilet but could not bring myself to leave and miss anything..so i used all the tricks in the book i know to try and alleviate the pressure on my bladder and concentrate on the film as apposed to the pain.
That last 30 Min's nearly killed me though, the film felt like it was dragging and to be honest i would not have missed much if i had gone because they were only wrapping the story up with soppy, boring shite at the end...but i'm stuborn...
Walking to the toilet after the film had finished was an ordeal in itself, i was in so much pain and had been holding it for so long that i could not run, i could not even walk fast..i found myself walking like Charlie Chaplin on Prozac just to keep myself from pissing everywhere.
Well anyway, apart from that downer at the end, i thought the film was brilliant and have very little criticism for the film, or the entire trilogy for that matter. The battles were brilliant and i was totally engrossed for the whole film..the only question remains, do i get the Two Towers extended DVD to go with my Fellowship Extended DVD and then get The Return of the King extended DVD when it comes out to complete the set OR do i wait for them to bring out a trilogy box set with all the extended features that will probably cost in the region of £100?

On a footnote, i have decided to redo the Gallery's part of this website, i have loads of pics still to put on and i was thinking of just giving it a slight overhall..maybe add comments to the gallery's..i don't know as i haven't decided yet, as for the rest of the site..it will pretty much stay as it is, i might get round to changing or updating a few things but i can't be arsed to re-design it...if it ain't broke (and it's not at the moment) then don't fix it (or piss about with it, spoil it, get pissed off with it and leave it half finished).

Welcome back..hope you all had a lovely Xmas and a Happy New Year, as for us it was nice to spend it with our relatives and get away from it all for a couple of days.
As a little present to ourselves and in preparation for the coming of the little one in June we thought it prudent to get ourselves a washing machine..and seeing as it was the January sales, what better time would there be?
Well after having a look in Curry's and Comet we plumped for a Hotpoint Aquarius 1400 spin model in Zircon Silver knocked down to £270, bargain...We picked it up today (bollocks to having it delivered as thats another £14) and stuck it in the outhouse/shed/thing we have thats got all the plumbing for said washing machine, not used it yet and the connectors had different colors than what we were expecting so we weren't to sure which was hot and which was cold but i guess we will soon found out wink
Yet again i find myself spending money on my fish tank, not much this time tough..thankfully...as one of my fluorescent tubes decided to die the other day, i still had a broad spectrum daylight tube that is working fine so switched that on till i could replace the blown tube (I was only running one tube on a reflector as i was getting a bit of an algae problem with both on).
I then decided that the daylight was more than sufficient for the job of supplying light for the plants (i was a bit worried as it's a high intensity tube) and bought a Blue Moon tube instead.
The blue Moon tube is more designed for nocturnal viewing of fish in Freshwater and Marine plus the actinic effect is beneficial to the corals of Marine tanks but it also heightens the natural blue colors of fish such a Neons.
At the moment i have both tubes on during the day and if there is no impact on the water quality by causing a huge growth in algae then i shall start leaving the Blue Moon tube on at night as well (The 'Blue' light spectrum given off by the tube is supposed to be invisible to the fish..therefore it should effectively be dark for them).
Last but not least in this post is a product which, to be honest since i found out about them, has left me somewhat amazed that i haven't seen them before....
What am i talking about?......Dildo's...yes Dildo's, but not just any dildo but Pyrex Dildo's...that stuff you use in your kitchen in the form of a glass roasting dish or glass pouring jug.
Not only are these things great for 'using' on yourself (yourself being a women...unless your that way inclined) but they also look like a work of art that would not look out of place in a display cabinet.
They are non-porous, sterile, frictionless, heat resistant, shatterproof and dishwasher safe...you could take it out the cabinet, smother it in KY jelly, use it till your hearts content then stick it in the dishwasher for that sparkling finish before popping it back in the cabinet for all your visitors to admire...now thats cool smile
