FM 2008 LLM Saga

This will feature my exploits in the PC game Football Manager 2008 as a Lower League Manager, non of this ‘start the game as Man U/Chelsea/Liverpool/Arsenal manager bollocks’ as there no real challenge in that.
The game kicks off at the start of the 07/08 season
Starting unemployed as a manager with no reputation i must wait and apply for jobs and hopefully it won’t be to long before i find a job. Unfortunately my wait was over 8 months (game time obviously) before i was offered the managers position at Worcester City after they sacked their previous manager.

Take on the position of Manager at Worcester, the club is in a sorry state and at the foot of the table (22nd) in the Blue Square North League…so it’s about as bad as it gets. It’s obvious that the team lacks a bit of quality but my hopes of getting any Premiership players…even on loan are slim….well, none actually so i must look for players in the ‘cast off’ section of the player pool..made more difficult because the club only has £40k in the bank and NO transfer money so any player i get will have to be a free transfer. Also, because of the limited funds i do not have a large wage budget. Prior to me taking over the club the win ration was -

11-03-08 Luke Ball – DL – 21 – England. (Free)
17-03-08 Aaron Brittain – ST – 20 – England. (Free)
All 4 players did exceptionally well with the star buy being Vincenti who the supporters are thrilled with. With only 10 games to go till the end of the season i had to work fast to get us out of the drop zone and into safety. With the help of the new players we scraped our way up to 19th with an end of season win ratio of -
Wins – 4 Draws – 3 Loses – 3.
So were safe for this year, the board are pleased to have stayed up but want me to improve next year…looks like some work for me ahead of next year.
