Thanks a bunch!!

As i had not got round to it i just thought i would take a minute to thank Emma and Nik for their incredibly thoughtful gift to Anthony on his 3rd birthday….

Anthony's new drum kit

Anthony's new drum kit

Anthony and Aaron have had great fun fighting over it and banging away on it…it’s not at all annoying when your trying to watch the tv…honest.
Much thought and energy is presently being expended into how best we can return this gracious favor for their next child’s birthday!

7 year itch!!!

Yes it’s mine and Fliss’s 7th year anniversary today, i’m not sure what Fliss has done to merit putting up with me for 7 years but there you go.

Hopefully today we will get to ‘do something’ together without the kids in tow (not that you dirty minded buggers :P ). Happy Anniversary babe

Happy Birthday Aaron

Had to stick a Happy Birthday message up before i went to bed for my little boy Aaron who’s 4 today, i have no idea where the time has gone but the last 4 years have shot by. (more…)

One of those weekends

One of those weekends where good times and bad times are held in near equal balance waiting for something to happen thats going to tip it either way. Friday afternoon saw my car develop a ‘problem’, not entirely sure what the problem was exactly as it ‘seemed’ to disappear. It started when i was sat at some traffic lights, they turned green and i started to accelerate up to speed, suddenly my foot goes flat to the floor on the clutch pedal as i try to change up a gear, the gear lever is stuck in first gear and no drive, i lift my foot off the pedal and the pedal stays down so i pull over to the side of the road to find out whats going on. I turn the engine off, pull up the clutch pedal with my foot and then with the engine still of i pump the clutch pedal and play around with the gear stick going up and down through the gears..all seems fine. So i start the car up again and try to pull away, clutch pedal goes flat to the floor, stick stuck in first, car nearly stalls. Fearing something has gone badly wrong and not wanting to endanger myself or other road users by trying to nurse it to the garage thats only 2 mins down the road i give the wife a call to come and get me and take me to the garage and get them to tow the car in. Anyway, the wife is quite busy but i tell her i’m ok to just wait for her. About an hour passes and i decide, while i’m sat here waiting for the wife, to have ‘just one more try’ to get the car going. I turn the engine on, put it in gear and slowly try to move off….all seems fine so far, i turn off the main (and busy) road i was on into a side street so i can give the car a bit of power to see if the clutch pedal snaps to the floor again but after a few minutes of trying to replicate the problem the car…and pedal are fine. At this point the wife turns up and we decide that it would be best to still put the car into the garage just for a check up as i don’t fancy this happening again especially if i end up further away from home, i should find out today if there are any obvious problems with it, lets hope not as MG ZT’s have hydraulic clutches and are not cheap to repair.

Saturday was Anthony’s party day to celebrate his 2nd birthday, Chris, Zoe and Lucy had come up from Bristol on Friday evening to join Fliss’s and Lucy’s mum Liz, Aaron’s best friend Jacob and his mum Jan, our friends Emma and Nik with their two children Ashleigh and Riley and Emma’s mum with her child, we also had a visit from Fliss’s friend ‘sexy’ Abi from work (it’s what Aaron calls her ;) ). I hope everyone had a good day, the kids really seemed to enjoy themselves, Anthony had lots of nice presents (Thank you everyone and thanks to my Mum and Dad as well) and played some nice games like pass the parcel, although Aaron towards late afternoon/evening was complaining of sore teeth but seemed fine apart from that. Anyway, i took a few picture so hopefully will get them uploaded soon.

Aaron had had a very unsettled night with his sore ‘teeth’ so we gave him some paracetamol to help sooth the pain but steadily over Sunday it got worse and was at times in a lot of pain, his cheeks were very red and he was complaining that it even hurt to have a wee, looking in his mouth we could see that his cheeks were inflamed, he had ulcers on his cheeks and red spots on the roof of his mouth, his throat was also slightly inflamed so we thought (probably unwisely) to get him to bed early and take him to the doctors in the morning. Chris, Zoe and Lucy headed back to Bristol at about 5pm and we got Aaron to bed, dosed up with some more paracetamol at about 5:30pm, all seemed fine and i settled into the sofa downstairs where i nodded off, i woke to Aaron in tears in the arms of Fliss..he was in hysterics because his mouth hurt, he could barely swallow and the more he tried to swallow the more hysterical he became that he couldn’t. We decided to phone the surgery ‘out of hours’ service and after answering a few questions they had Aaron booked in for 7:30pm. Fliss was supposed to be in work that evening but after making some arrangements she took the night off and took Aaron up to the surgery (much against Aaron’s wishes as he just wanted to stay at home and go back to bed). An hour or so later they were back and packed out with antibiotics and more paracetamol, the doctor said he has a viral infection so hopefully it’s not to contagious and Anthony..or we don’t get it. Aaron has barely eaten a thing now in 24hrs and although he had a very very restless night last night (Fliss stayed up with him all night) he does seem to generally be a bit happier, obviously he’s not been to nursery this morning (which really upset him) and he won’t be going tomorrow but hopefully he will make it for Fridays session.

Anthony 2 years old today

Yes it’s Anthony’s 2nd birthday today..time has absolutely flown by. He’s still a short arse but a sneaky, cheeky, clever little short arse who despite being the quieter of the two gets into more trouble and ends up with more injuries. Happy birthday little fella

Great day out

I would like to thank my friends Lee, Chris and his better half Zoe for a great day out yesterday. As part of Chris’s birthday present last week Zoe bought him a ticket to watch Liverpool play Fulham and both myself and Lee got some tickets as well. Both Lee and Zoe are ManU fans (no accounting for taste really) so it was nice of them to go as well and myself and Chris are Liverpool fans who have never been to Anfield (i generally hate crowds which is why i don’t really do concerts either) so it was great to visit the stadium and soak up the atmosphere.
The whole day was an enjoyable experience and very much one that myself and Chris want to do again…helped by the fact Liverpool beat Fulham 2:0 and the fact Liverpool we kind enough to leave it till the second half till they scored in front of the kop end which is near to where we were sat in the main stand. Unfortunately as penance for Lee going to Anfield he is insisting we return the favor and watch an apparently ‘proper’ team play in an apparently ‘better’ stadium in Manc land…

Anthony’s birthday

Hard to believe that it’s been a year already but it’s Anthony’s birthday to. He didn’t really have any idea what was going on to be fair and were not really having a proper birthday party till Saturday when some more people arrive to help celebrate…i think Aaron’s having more fun than Anthony.

Anyway, happy 1st birthday Anthony.

Happy Birthday

It’s that time of year again…it’s Felicity’s birthday today and that means she’s 28, luckily the old girl is still looking good and don’t look a day over 27 Tongue out
So on behalf of myself and the boys….Happy Birthday mummy

Chris’s Birthday

Feck ‘n arse!!!!!! it would seem that i have completely missed one of my best mates birthday which was on the 4th November (i think thats right Chris ain’t it……you may slap me if i’m wrong).

I’m not going to use 2 kids or the fact i forgot to add you to my new phone or calender as an excuse or the fact that i’m 36 and going a bit senile and i feel just a little bit guilty that his 33rd birthday came and went without so much as a ‘you old bastard’ comment from me.

I hope you had a good day mate (sounds like you did from your even less updated blog than mine) and hopefully i will see you soon to buy you a few beers.

Congrats mate.
