Squealing brakes

Well i’m at a total loss as to why my brakes are squealing so much, it’s been on going for well over a year now and the issue is still not sorted. Basically i had a new set of discs and pads on the front fitted by ATS and shortly afterward they began to squeal. They tried various pad combinations to no avail and i eventually gave up a persevered with it. Recently the squeal has got a lot worse so i decided to have another go at sorting it and got some Mintex discs and pads. Got them fitted but the squeal came back just as bad. I did consider at this point that i may be the calipers so had them checked out but they are fine, plenty of free movement with no sticking. The garage suggested trying OEM pads but that’s what ATS first put on the car that started squealing..or rather, they fitted Unipart pads which to the best of my knowledge is what OEM rover pads are.
